Wilson Valdez- Awesome!

Published by Mikey Mets at 7:38 pm under Mets News, Mets Players, The Mets

The Mets put infielder Alex Cora on the 15-Day disabled list, retroactive to August 13.  He will have season ending surgery on his thumbs, which he injured a couple months ago.  Thanks Alex, you couldn’t last a few more fuckin games?  Honestly, I do respect the guy for playing through an injury.  That’s a lot more than I can say for the other morons on the DL, not counting David Wright.  I give him a pass.  Below is our $85 million Disabled List

Injuries

Player Date Status Injury
D. Wright 3B Aug 16 15-day Post-concussion symptoms
Á. Cora SS/2B Aug 13 15-day Thumb ligament surgery – out for season
J. Niese SP Aug 6 60-day Torn right hamstring – out for season
F. Nieve SP Jul 20 15-day Torn right quadriceps – out 6-8 weeks
F. Martinez LF/CF Jul 9 15-day Right knee inflammation
C. Beltrán CF Jun 22 15-day Bone bruise, right knee
J. Maine SP Jun 7 15-day Right shoulder fatigue
J. Putz RP Jun 5 60-day Right elbow surgery – out 8-10 weeks
R. Martínez SS/2B Jun 3 60-day Fractured left pinkie finger
J. Reyes SS May 21 15-day Right calf tendinitis
C. Delgado 1B May 11 60-day Right hip impingement
B. Wagner RP Mar 27 60-day Left elbow surgery – out for season

Wilson Valdez was promoted from Farmingdale Youth Baseball to replace Cora – he will be available for tonight’s game.  That’s fucking awesome news, right?

Valdez flew down to Citi Field with his wife…
