Today it was announced that Darryl Strawberry and Dwight Gooden will be inducted into the Mets Hall of Fame. I am an 80’s child. My favorite glove playing little league was an outfielders glove that was red. It had the signature of Darryl Strawberry inside. On the back of all my little league baseball cards it asked who my favorite player was. It of course read Darryl Strawberry. Little did I know, as a 10 year old playing on the fields of Amity Baseball Little League in Brooklyn, NY. That my favorite player was an outright crack head. GOD, Those were the good old days. I remember the games when “Dwight Was Right At Night”, this is a saying that my dad used when we would watch games at night on TV. Dwight Gooden would dominate opponents with his fastball. Little did I know he was a crack head. Two of my favorite players at the time. I never knew they were both headed for the big house.   One thing I do have to be thankful for. These felons gave me my last taste of championship baseball for a die hard Mets fan.

On a side note. Davey Johnson and Frank Cashen are getting in as well. The Manager and GM team that brought the players together in 86′. With this wild bunch. You have to give a ton of credit to these guys for holding it down.

Today the Mets have announced a 1 year agreement with outfielder Jeff Francoeur for $5.5 Million dollars. I think this is a good decision. Francoeur has always been called out for his play while he was in Atlanta. It seemed he was an underachiever until he joined the Mets last year in a trade for outfielder Ryan Church. This was probably the best move the Mets made all season last year. For some reason coming to the big city he came out of his shell hitting .311 with 20 doubles, 10 homers and 41 RBI in 75 games making him a crown favorite. Hopefully he keeps up the good work.

It is true. Jason Bay passed his physical this morning. He is officially a Met. I wonder if this will cause him to suck like the rest of the team. There will be a press conference at Citi Field tomorrow morning to make the announcement. I should show up and try to get a press pass.

Ok folks. It is official. The Mets have come to an agreement with power hitting free agent left fielder Jason Bay. This news of course is pending a physical by the Mets doctors.

It is said that he signed to a 4 year $66 Million dollar deal. This might include an option for a 4th year as well. I guess the idea of Bay getting 5 years from any other team didn’t come into fruition.

In 2009 Bay hit roughly .270 with 119 RBI’s and 36 Homers. He is a career 280 hitter, averaging 30 homers and 90+ RBI’s in his six full season in the big leagues.

Jason Bay was a rookie of the year in 04′ and has made the all-star team 3 times.

I really hope this works out….

After reading an article on Gary Sheffield on Sportsline.com. I just had to put something together about this fucking mutt.

I will start first with giving my father credit for being able to spot a retard from a mile away. For the last decade or so he has called Shef out. I, being the type of person that gives everyone the benefit of the doubt, have always liked Shef as a player. I am a big fan of offense and I have always loved his swing.

Now, to why I am writing this article. This bag’o'douche, has the fucking nerve, at age 524 to pull this shit. He wants a contract extension or he wants to be traded? Are you fucking kidding me!  This guy is making $14 million bucks this year and he is not even capable of being a full time player with those 2 fuckin wooden pegs, he calls legs.

This is possibly the dumbest shit, I have come across in a long time. Does he really think that there is a championship contender out there dying to pick up a shitty designated hitter? Does he really think that someone is gonna dig into the pockets to pay him the big bucks. I just don’t get it.

My conclusion to all of this, is that Gary Sheffield, is just batshit crazy. All I have to say about this, is FUCK YOU Gary Sheffield.

Vice president of player personnel Tony Bernazard was dismissed after getting into a heated argument with All-Star closer Francisco Rodriguez on the team bus after he was hit in the face with K-Rod’s toe nail clipping.  Then, he was challenging the Mets 12 year old little league team they sponsor to a fight, calling them ” a bunch of rotten pussies” after he ripped off his shirt like the Incredible Hulk. And for a grand finally, he was berating a team employee over a seating mix-up, because the poor guy who brought his hot dog, forgot the relish.  What he did not know, was that he was live on tv and on the jumbotron in front 42,000.  What an idiot!

Omar Minaya went on to announce he has hired this guy…

His name is Golarb the Wizard. He supposedly was brought in by Minaya to “work some magic”. Minaya found him herding sheep on a recent visit to Germany to look for more prospects, because we all know how good Germans are at baseball.

The Mets continue to be on life support and I am getting downright disgruntled. At this point, I feel like vomiting. At times like this, it is hard to be a Mets fan, but how can you really be that mad at them. It is no ones fault that they are injured.  It is just Omar’s fault for not doing anything about it.

They keep talking about Fernando Martinez like he is the second coming of Albert Pujols.  The guy is a good fielder, but he gets injured 4 times a year and he hits like crap!  Don’t tell me they did not give this loser a shot.  He had 91 at bats, with 16 hits for a .176 batting average.  That’s impressive!  Could have fooled me.

What about Bobby Parnell?  He throws one pitch.  So what if he could throw 100mph.   What good is that if he is throwing Meatballs (or should I say MetsBalls) right down the middle of the plate.  Peace out son.

We could have had Roy Halladay for these losers.  But noooooooooo,  these two fools are too valuable.  Speaking of Halladay, we could have also had Matt Holiday, for one prospect!!!  Now we missed out on that too.
