Mets News – Mets and John Maine come to 1 year agreement to avoid arbitration.

Published by D-Money under Mets News, Mets Players

Now this is some exciting news…… John Maine came to terms with the Mets for $3.3 Million. Lets hope, for some reason that he has a good season. Even though he has only had one good season in his career. And by season I mean pitching a decent amount of games, being over .500 and having an ERA under 4.

Lets me realistic. This guy is nothing more then average at best. Hopefully they can trade him and someone else for a real pitcher.

Mets get pitching relief from overseas

Published by D-Money under Mets News

According to his agent, Arn Tellem. The Mets are in “serious discussions” with 30 year old Japanese right hander Ryota Igarashi. After the Mets bullpen blunders last year. They are in need of a quality setup man for all-star closer K-Rod. Igarashi finished last year with a 3.19 ERA in 56 games for the Yakult Swallows.

According to legend. Ryota Igarashi has thrown the hardest clocked pitch in Japanese baseball history. This was a 98.75 MPH fastball. To bad that was back in 2004. He is said to consistently throw in the mid 90’s. It looks like the Mets are close to a 2 year deal with this rocket throwing reliever.
